🛕Temple & Cultural Etiquette ›
Bali Water Purification Ceremony (Tirta Empul, Sep 26): During this ceremony, we will be getting in the water — so wear your swimsuit under your coverup. We will get a sarong at the temple entrance to cover our knees (temple etiquette). Pack a change of dry clothing to wear after the ceremony is over — we still have a day of touring ahead of us!
Malaysia & Indonesia (Bali) are generally modest countries — it's recommended to wear modest clothing while in both.

The atmosphere on board is one of relaxed refinement. We are sensitive to the varying wardrobe needs of passengers on long journeys and from different national backgrounds, and wish our guests to be comfortable at all times. During the day, dress for relaxed comfort as you move about the train and embark on excursions. We recommend light cotton clothing for sightseeing. We ask that you respect local cultures by wearing appropriate clothing when visiting religious sites. Evenings call for smart-casual attire with a touch of understated elegance, and we suggest gentlemen wear a jacket for dinner.
